You Know'em From The Rap

DMG'z are a bit A.D.D when it comes to music today. So that keeps us looking for new shit to ride to. I was on The Fader one day and they had a small write up on a gentleman named Wale(Wah-lay) from DC. They also pasted his myspace jukebox on the page and I was instantly hooked! It's like when you have been waiting at the bus-stop for the longest, and then your late ass bus shows up. Wale is truly a rap relief. The buzz started with his first mixtape "Paint A Picture", which we can't get enough of here. Then he followed with his second mixtape "Hate Is The New Love", which we played out about a month or two ago. His singles "Dig Dug" and "Breakdown" are the most requested songs in DC history! His sound can be described as Hip-Hop mixed with a tad of Go-Go. If you don't know what Go-Go is, just think back to Spike Lee's "School Days" and that song "Doin The Butt". His Studio 43 team is headed by Kenny Burns who once worked at Roc-a-fella with Dame and them. Wale is on the straight and narrow road to the top and is currently on tour with Mark Ronsosn in the U.K. Remember the name...Wale....cause you about to know him from the rap!

Peace
